The Wealthy Rich Man

Can I paint you a picture, not of penthouse suite, Just a small condo on the corner, no fancy street, A closet full of echoes, pockets very light, A paycheck that flys by, then it's outta sight, Working for the bare minimum, Rent is always knocking making the spirit sometimes dim, A landlord with a frown, and a leaky faucet too, And a mind that hums with worries, like a bee stuck in glue. The bills they pile up high, the dreams they seem so far, Wishing for a mansion, a brand new shiny car, I have my own unique battles, my own personal fight, But you'll rarely see me frowning, even in the darkest night, Because I'd rather have the joy, the peace that fills my soul, Than a vault of money, or a life beyond control. The money it can vanish, problems come and go, But this happiness inside, that's the real overflow. I got these quirks the ones that make me, me, Maybe I talk too loud, Or a temper that can spark, then fade to gentle rain, And sometimes I'm a dreamer, lost ...

Blessings On The Way

My phone rang, another notification It felt like the universe was sending bad salutations, This week has been a marathon, problems in every stride, Dodging landmines, nowhere left to hide, I feel the weight of my problems on my back, Every step forward, feels I'm under attack, Bills piling high, dreams fading to gray, Thought the sun had forgotten how to light up my day. But I'm going to on hold my head up, Even when the doubt tries to fill my cup, Seen the darkness, felt the sting of the fall, But I'm not breaking, I'm standing tall, Because I know,  I feel it in my soul's core, That a blessing's are coming, knocking at my door After all the struggle, after all the pain This is why I know a blessing's on the way. Back to back issues, like a twisted, cruel joke, One problem solved, then another would provoke, Lost some sleep, shed a tear or two, Questioned everything, "What am I gonna do?", Felt the pressure building, almost reached the brink, But ...

A Blessing Is Coming

The shadows stretched, they coiled, they tried to bind, A season of the difficult design; The troubles came not singly, but in waves, Back-to-back burdens, haunting all my days. I navigated paths where hope seemed faint, A weary soul beneath a heavy taint, Where struggle was the air I had to breathe, And heavy trials gathered in a wreath. But why the sudden certainty I find? Why speak of rescue, leaving pain behind? Because the night was long, the testing true, And deep endurance was the task I knew. For every instance that demanded strength, I met the challenge, reaching any length To keep the flicker of the future bright, Refusing to surrender to the night. I chose the posture of the optimist, Though doubt was heavy on my praying wrist. I sought the courage hidden in the ache, Believed in grace for my own weary sake. I did not cease the conversation high, A quiet prayer whispered beneath the sky; I kept the line of faith unbroken, strained, While every ounce of inner peace was draine...

My Honest Words

Maybe I’m too honest with these words I bring to light, Maybe I get too personal, in the stillness of the night. My words run deep with feeling, the truth I can’t conceal, Each line a confession, of what my heart can feel. I write of love that’s vanished, a ghost within the pane, And real love that’s still burning, through sunshine and through the rain. I write about the ache of what was broken, the joy of what remains, My silent stories, through passion and through pains. These verses are from my spirit, from deep within my heart and soul, They are the true reflection of me, making my being whole. No illusion, no character I play, This is the heart that beats here, laid bare for all to see today. I struggle in the shadows, the burdens I do bear, My mind is filled with problems, my soul is acquainted with despair. I carry fears unspoken, through every passing year, Yet I still have gratitude , wiping away each tear. In the darkness, a steady light I find, A solace in believing, to soot...

Vacation

The blessings bloom around me, bright and bold, A tapestry of comforts, to behold. I count them close, each thread a whispered grace, Yet shadows linger, etched upon my face. For still I strive, a climber reaching high, And feel the pull of lack against the sky. This constant push, this ever-present need, Plants whispers of a hunger I can’t feed. Will there arrive a shore of calm and ease? Where struggles cease, and worries find release? I speak it forth, with fervent, hopeful plea, “Yes, it will come, that day belongs to me.” God, hear my prayer, a whisper on the breeze, A gentle solace for my ill at ease. I crave a breath, a moment to unwind, A temporary leave for heart and mind. Not from the trials, they’ll be there when I’m back, But from the weight, the wear upon the track. Just laughter bright, and moments light and free, God, grant me this, and peace will follow me

Moving Forward

The world, a river, ever flows, Each second altered, as it goes. Should hope arise, with every sunlit gleam, Or fear descend, a chilling dream? Since time took breath, a cosmic sigh, This restless shift has swept us by. A constant churn, a turning wheel, Change, the only truth we feel. Yesterday, a fading shore, A second past, we see no more. The current pulls, we cannot stay, We must embrace the onward way.

I Run

I run, I run, a hurried stride, Where peace and stillness softly hide. No space to breathe, no time to pause, Just chasing phantom, endless causes. The air grows thin, my chest constricts, A silent scream my spirit clicks. To slow, to stop, to feel the ground, Where seeds of solace might be found. But onward, onward, whips the fear, Of falling back, of slipping here. A frantic dance, a restless chase, Lost in the whirlwind of this race. And yet, a voice, faint and low, “Perhaps the race you need to slow, Is not the one you physically run, But the one where stillness is undone.”
