Love Shades:A Dichotomy
Love Shades: A Dichotomy
Shades On
Behind tinted lenses, a world so bright,
I gaze at you, bathed in celestial light.
Perfection gleams, a flawless, shining star,
You could do no wrong, however near or far.
Leaving my side? A thought I can’t conceive,
Your honesty, a promise I believe.
Invincible I feel, with you so close to me,
Apart we’ll never be, eternally.
Your love, a fortress, strong and ever true,
My captive heart, completely held by you.
Shades Off
The world snaps back, a harsh and brutal glare,
The truth emerges, stripped completely bare.
A cheater’s smile, a liar’s whispered plea,
You walked away, abandoning me.
A fleeting season, that’s all you were to me,
You switched so fast, a cruel apostasy.
Last week, my everything, my sun, my moon, my sky,
This week, a shattered heart, left with only a cry.
How could this be? The sudden, stinging pain,
The brutal truth revealed, again and again.
It was the Love Shades, blinding and concealing,
The real you hidden, your true self unfeeling.
