Misdirection

The puppet master pulls the string,
“Behold! The terror this will bring!”
A flash of light, a deafening sound,
All eyes are fixated, tightly bound.

“Tremble at the shadow’s might,
The darkness that consumes the light!”
While whispers weave a phantom fear,
The truth, unnoticed, lingers near.

Drink deep the tale they offer free,
Of dragons lurking in the sea.
Believe the lies, the gilded prose,
As genuine wisdom softly goes.

For while you fixate on the fright,
Ignoring reason’s steady light,
The hand that guides, unseen, unheard,
Steals futures, whispered, every word.

Misdirection. A clever art,
To captivate the mind and heart,
And leave you lost, confused, and blind,
While reality is left behind.
