Joy
I used to judged you through another’s eyes,
Compared our bond to borrowed skies.
But now the scales have fallen free,
My own perspective, uniquely me.
I yearn for moments, bathed in light,
With you beside me, day and night.
Each millisecond, a treasure kept,
A promise, softly wept
For all the wasted time before,
When I did not unlock your door.
You’re not a frivolous, fleeting spark,
A celebration in the dark.
Not chained to riches, nor to fame,
But present always, just the same.
You stand with me in somber hues,
And lift me up when I feel bruised.
I seek you now, in every place,
A constant comfort, gentle grace.
And in your absence, I feel the sting,
Thank God for you, Thank God for everything.
