Keep Going

The world throws stones, a constant rain,
A dripping faucet, a persistent pain.
It’s always something, a new demand,
Another hurdle in this shifting sand.
But worry’s grip, it holds no sway,
We brush the dust and greet the day.

You watch and wait, a knowing glance,
Expecting fracture, a defeated trance.
You think I’ll crumble, fade away,
Surrender spirit, lose my play.
You underestimate the fire within,
The strength that rises from deep within.

I didn’t arrive with silver spoon,
My path was tangled, met too soon
With thorny thickets, barring way,
Demanding payment, day by day.
I cut my way in, a stubborn fight,
To claim my future, bathe it in light.

It started small, a tiny sliver,
A crack of hope, a desperate shiver.
A word, a thought, a single deed,
A planted seed of what I need.
And slowly, surely, chipped away,
Until a path began to sway.

So let the storms rage, let the winds blow,
Let challenges rise, a constant show.
I’ve faced the darkness, felt the sting,
And learned the power hope can bring.
I’ll not fold up, I will not quit,
This journey’s mine, I’ll see it lit.
