Searching

Strolling through my memories, 
A childhood of loneliness and seclusion,
I'm a loner not by choice but by circumstance,
Not antisocial,
It is true I don't mind being alone,
I don't necessarily prefer it,
But I don't fear it

Always searching for someone has to be exhausting,
I wouldn't know because I haven't tried,
I don't hide I'm easily found,
I'm not looking in the sky and I'm not looking at the ground,
I'm looking straight ahead

Oh, Source of wisdom, breath of life's own art, Please God, imbue the promptings of my heart. Grant me the words, a flowing, crystal stream, To waken spirits from a slumbering dream. Not for my glory, nor for fleeting fame, But that my utterance may gently claim A space within the souls of humankind, To leave a positive effect, profoundly kind.
