Materialistic
Material things, a fleeting show,
Can vanish quick, as all men know.
A surging flood, a watery hand,
Can steal them from the solid land.
The hungry flames, a fiery kiss,
Can turn to ash our earthly bliss.
What we possess, a fragile hold,
A story quickly to be told.
So cling not tight to what you own,
For fate can leave you all alone.
Remember then, when fortune's gone,
The truest wealth is carried on.
For love and laughter, spirit bright,
And kindness shining like a light -
These treasures time cannot erode,
The best in life, a priceless load.
