What I've Learned 📝

My own race, I run it true,
First place is where I'm meant to be, for me and you.
Ninety-five, a shadowed number, whispers fill the air,
Behind my back, negativity, a burden I must bear.

Smiling faces, two-faced art,
A subtle poison aimed at my heart.
No crime with others, a solitary plea,
For even toughest friends will betray, to set themselves free.

Calm I embrace, a serene disguise,
My authentic self, reflected in my eyes.
Prayers ascend, a constant, gentle hum,
Laughter bursts, 'til happy days become.

Smile often, a beacon bright and bold,
Faith in God, a story to be told.
Each soul distinct, a universe alone,
The world is cold, a truth deeply known.

Judge not others, a difficult climb,
Let go of grudges, surrendered to time.
Erase the echoes of yesterday's lies,
And always love, with open, loving eyes.

They say nice guys finish last, a cynical decree,
But I say, at least we finish, honestly and free.
And in that finishing, a victory resides,
A peaceful heart, where true contentment hides.
