In the heart, a restless quest,
For something just beyond, put to the test.
What are we searching for, with eager hand,
Across the shifting dunes of desert sand?
Happiness, a fleeting butterfly,
That lands a moment, then takes to the sky.
We chase its wings, a shimmer in the sun,
But grasp at shadows, ’til the day is done.
Wealth, a towering mountain, cold and steep,
That lures us upward, while our worries creep.
We gather stones, and build a mighty hoard,
But find the emptiness, that gold afford.
Health, a fragile bloom, we tend with care,
A precious gift, beyond all compare.
We fight the shadows, fear the withering blight,
And pray for strength, to see another light.
God, a distant echo, in the soul’s deep core,
A yearning upward, wanting to explore.
We reach for answers, in the vast unknown,
And seek connection, to be less alone.
Do we even know, the truth we seek to find?
Or are we lost, with visions in our mind?
Perhaps the journey, is the truest prize,
To search and wonder, beneath endless skies.
