Night Thoughts
The moon, a sliver, hangs so high,
A silent witness to my sigh.
The world is hushed, a velvet cloak,
And in its peace, my thoughts evoke.
No gentle sleep to soothe my brow,
Just questions here and now.
Is this the life I truly crave?
Or just a shadow in a cave?
Do choices made define my soul?
Or does the future have control?
The clock ticks on, a steady beat,
A constant reminder of retreat.
From this deep well of shadowed thought,
To face the dawn, with battles fought.
But in the stillness, I can see,
A fragile hope, residing in me.
That even now, in darkest night,
I hold the pen, to write my light.
